Effective April 27, 2021, Tejsvi (Tej) Rai, Senior Vice-President, Asset Allocation, iA Investment Management Inc. (“iAIM”), has been appointed portfolio manager of iA’s managed solutions (“the Funds”).

Tej Rai joins Clément Gignac and Sébastien Mc Mahon as portfolio managers on the Funds. Mr. Rai will bring advanced asset allocation capabilities typically employed by large institutional investors, to complement the team’s existing emphasis on top-down, macro-driven asset allocation. This synergy within the team will enable a collaborative approach that combines the best of fundamental and quantitative investing.
Although Mr. Rai is newly named on the Funds, he currently works closely with Mr. Gignac and Mr. Mc Mahon at iAIM. Given their roles on the Funds, the 3 managers are key members of iAIM’s asset allocation committee which draws on the expertise from across iAIM’s investment division. Moreover, Mr. Gignac and Mr. Rai respectively lead the iAIM’s Economic and Asset Allocation Team.
The arrival of Tej demonstrates iA’s commitment to strong investment talent. He will work closely with Clément and Sébastien, and their work will be complemented by additional several investment professionals, including new recruits with experience at globally recognized institutions such as CPP Investments and AQR. These additional capabilities support our vision to deliver to our clients, world-class asset allocation capabilities, typically only found in the most sophisticated, multi-hundred billion pension funds.

About Tej Rai
Mr. Rai joined iAIM in 2020 as Senior Vice-President, Asset Allocation. Previously, he was principal and senior portfolio manager at SECOR Asset Management, where he developed a strong track record in managing industry-leading asset allocation portfolios. Concurrently, Tej was responsible for the development of the firm’s customized solutions and managed account platform. Prior to joining SECOR, he was a portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, responsible for the research and implementation of systematic trading strategies within asset allocation mandates. Tej is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he obtained a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and a BSE in Electrical Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He is based in Toronto.
