With the arrival of the new year, we would like to take the opportunity to remind you of how important it is to demonstrate proper behaviour in your communications with the IT Help Desk to protect your clients' confidential information.
Here are the good practices to be observed while you are communicating with an IT Help Desk technician:
- Do not disclose any passwords or confidential information to the technician.
- Close the browser windows containing confidential information before giving control of your computer to the technician.
- Always pay attention to the actions taken by the technician who is in control of the computer (technicians are required to describe the actions they are about to take when they are in control).
- Make sure the technician is no longer in control before you resume working on your computer.
