It is with much enthusiasm and pride that we announce the appointment of Sharon B. Smith as Chief Underwriter and Claims Risk Officer within the Underwriting, New Business and Claims team.

An outstanding reputation

With over 40 years of industry experience, Sharon chose to continue her professional career at iA. Through her strategic role, she will contribute to position us as a leader in underwriting across the industry and among our distribution partners.

Inducted into the AHOU* Hall of Fame in 2016 for her outstanding contribution to the profession, where she also was president.

She held several industry leadership positions including Chair of the Canadian Institute of Underwriters and Chair of the CLHIA** Committee on Underwriting Issues.
