The temporary standards put in place for immigrants due to COVID-19 have now ended.
Good news! Insurance applications for proposed insureds who have been in Canada for less than one year will be instantly decided for coverage in EVO and accelerated in Assure&Go with a completed declaration of insurability. All the client must do is meet the age and amount criteria below:
| Life insurance up to $100,000 | Ages 0 to 60* |
Declaration of insurability *predictive analysis for $100,000 $ (51-60 years) |
| Disability benefits up to $1,000/month | Ages 18 to 50 | Declaration of insurability |
For insureds who have immigrated to Canada less than a year ago and who do not meet these criteria, a telephone interview, blood profile and vital signs will be required.
These permanent changes will take effect July 5, 2021.
Important:
Starting July 5th all Insurance applications submitted to Head Office through EVO and Assure&Go will be subject to these new criteria.
Insurance applications currently pending and in the process of underwriting will not be affected by these changes. They will be subject to the criteria in place at the time they were submitted.
